Greif-Division Postcards Knight Cross Holders

The postacrds of the knight cross holders of the 'Greif' division are rare. The 122 Infantry-Division with the nickname 'Greif' was part of the 16th army that fought on the eastern front. For some reason the propaganda office decided to issue postcards of this particular division. They came in three parts:
1.  Staraja=Russa - Brennpunkte der Kämpfe südlich des Ilmensees (Center of the fighting south of Lake Ilmen);

2. Kommandeure und Ritterkreuzträger der Greif-Division (Commanders and knight cross holders of the Greif-Division);
3. Die Russische Landschaft (The Russian landscape)

Each part contained 20 postcards and they where wraped in a folder. The photo's (cards) were made by the so called Berichterrupps 'Greif'. That means the Division had is own press agent along the various campains.

The Greif-Division official name was the 122 Infantry-Division. It had three Regiments (Infantry-Regiment 409, 410 and 411), one artillery regiment (122) and various other support units. In 1942 the infantery regiments became grenadier regiments. The postcards show the following:
